| ‘Aum’ is a parking plus 4 storey stand-alone residential building located on a small plot measuring 3,750 Sq.Ft. The building houses three dwelling units with a 2BHK unit on first floor, 3BHK unit on 2nd floor and a 4BHK duplex on third and fourth floor. The building being a redevelopment project initiated by the existing owner for himself and his close relatives, all the owners old and new had a say in the brief and the design of the project. One of the main requisite was “Every unit should be designed to suit its user and have an identity of its own.” This very idea was the main driving force for the design. Every floor is designed separately in terms of internal planning and external facade. Use of vernacular elements and materials like brick and earthen colours add a warmth to the elevation keeping it rooted to the traditional Indian home ethos. |
